Bodyshop Panel/MET Technician
We are recruiting for an experienced Bodyshop Panel/MET Technician at our prestige repair facility in Glinton. The job will be more MET than panel, so the ideal candidate might already be doing panel work with strip and fit for their own jobs, but is able to, or is interested in, improving their MET knowledge further. We are looking for a competent Panel/MET Technician to work in our main workshop, carrying out retail, fleet and insurance work. It is a busy department tasked with completing internal and external work, efficiently and to a very high standard. We have a very team-oriented environment with plenty of in-house, on the job cascade training in terms of getting up to speed with some of the models and brands we see frequently.
The Panel/MET Technician will undertake the following tasks, and the successful applicant will ideally have experience in these areas:
Strip & fit operations of vehicle interior & exterior components
Panel replacement and repair
Panel Joining Techniques, welding, bonding & riveting etc.
Gap and align panels to the correct specification
Jig work – Universal and Bracket Type
4-wheel alignments and suspension work
Good knowledge of SRS, passive/active safety systems, EV technology & safety awareness
Comfortable with I.T. to train in the use of VM diagnostic equipment and researching & following repair methods
Follow and complete workshop job cards
Quality controlling their own work
The successful candidate will focus on quality of repair and take pride in their work.They will demonstrate a consistent and high level of housekeeping to ensure they deliver quality work on time.
Other Requirements
Must hold a valid driving licence - essential
Work Schedule:40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 with 30 mins for lunch
Salary: Competitive depending on experience
